It’s the age of the internet, though, and there’s not much that’s unavoidable nowadays. That’s what we’re about to find out. We’ll offer you LawDepot reviews of their services top-to-bottom and see if it’s worth your money!

LawDepot Review – Their Plans and Services in 2024

The first document ever offered on the site was a Promissory Note back in 2001 when the company was first founded. Now, twenty years and over 10 million users later, that one document has expanded the site and it now offers more than 150 templates.

But, we’re getting ahead of ourselves, let’s clear up the basics first.

What is LawDepot?

LawDepot is a legal technology company – not to be confused with a legal firm which it is not! It promises access to any kind of legal form you’d need. You can choose from lots of different thoroughly-made formats, and customize them to generate your own legal documents. Sounds easy right?

The service can be used in fields of real estate, business, family, and finance, but also for other purposes like citizenship or affidavits.

LawDepot Pros and Cons

Pros

  • State-specific documents – LawDepot considers different state laws and will provide you with accurate documentation based on location.
  • User-friendly interface – the site is easy to navigate, and the whole process of filling out a form is quick, simple, and guided with the help of step-by-step instructions, making sure the end product is as accurate as possible.
  • Different payment plans are available – you can choose to pay yearly, monthly, or per document.
  • LawDepot’s Blog is there for users to further explore a topic if they want to
  • Refunds – any dissatisfied user will be refunded within 50 days if they request it. Additionally, if a mistake in the documents generated by the site causes legal damages LawDepot will pay out up to $10,000 to the affected party
  • The site offers a 7-day free trial.

Cons

  • No legal consultation is offered – LawDepot leads you through the process, but for any questions you have, you’re left on your own. They don’t offer any online legal consultation and customer support will only help with technical issues.
  • Misleading marketing – the company advertises the ability to create free legal documentation, but this is only possible during the 7-day free trial. While technically true, marketing confuses many customers.

LawDepot Services

LawDepot services stick to the legal forms in the fields we already mentioned. The site does its best to make sure forms are filled out correctly and has made the whole process incredibly simple.

There is a large set of online forms to choose from, but the site makes it easy for you to get what you need out of it. It’ll ask you questions and the software places your answers where they belong. It takes very little time, and no legal expertise to do – the services are where LawDepot really shines.

Is LawDepot Legit?

Law Depot may not be a law firm, but the documents it offers are legally binding if completed correctly. It received an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau which uses the Transport Layer Security protocol to keep its users’ data secure. On Trustpilot, LawDepot has rated 4.5/5 stars from over 4.6 thousand reviews.

Is LawDepot as Good as a Lawyer?

LawDepot employees are professionally trained in the law, and work on making their documents as accurate as possible. This means that the forms generated by the company may be accepted in a court of law in all 50 states.

LawDepot is all about affordable legal resources, and they succeed at offering that! But they can’t replace a trained lawyer in everything they do. The site only provides documentation, and though it’s legally sound documentation, and will probably cost you a fraction of the price of a lawyer, they cannot help you any further than that. LawDepot is not a law firm and cannot offer any legal advice. Be careful what your expectations are when using it.

LawDepot Pricing Plans

LawDepot has 2 subscription plans – and both allow for unlimited document creation and printing. The monthly option costs $33, while the yearly subscription is $95.88.

If you choose to pay yearly your monthly cost drops significantly to $7.99.

You can also pay per document which is usually the least affordable option. A form can cost anywhere between $10-$49.

Customer Service of LawDepot

Regarding technical issues, you can contact customer support. There are a few ways to do this: email, live online chat, or by phone at 1-855-231-8424.

At the top of the site is the “Help” option. Selecting this will give you access to the Help Center where you can browse through the frequently asked questions

If you don’t find what you’re looking for, the bottom of the screen greets you with information on contacting support by Mail or live chat, as well as the phone number. Phone support is available Monday-Friday, 8 am to 7 pm Eastern time.

What Should I Use Instead of LawDepot?

If you’re still on the fence about LawDepot or don’t like an aspect of it, you’ll be happy to hear that there are plenty of other sites that offer similar services. Check out the competition before settling on a single firm.

How Do I Get Rid of LawDepot?

You can cancel your subscription at any time in three different ways:

  1. Sign in to your account, go to “Subscriptions”, and follow the instructions on the screen
  2. Access the Help Center and find the “How do I cancel my subscription” question. Then process to cancel without sign in
  3. Call the company and cancel through the phone
